Finding the Right Nail Salon in Abu Dhabi: What to Look For Before You Book

It’s the night before a big event, and you glance down at your hands. The gel polish has started to lift, one edge has chipped, and the shape isn’t what it was three weeks ago. You need a fix by tomorrow, and you don’t want a rushed one.

That moment sends plenty of women searching for a nail salon in Abu Dhabi. Plenty of places will do your nails, but fewer will do them well, in a calm setting, with products you can trust. This guide covers what to look for, and what you’ll find at The Wave Lounge.

What Makes a Great Nail Salon?

Good nails come down to care, technique and consistency. A few things are worth checking before you book.

Technique and Precision

Cuticle work, shaping and finish all depend on the technician’s skill. Ask what techniques are on offer, because a salon with several options usually has the training behind them. At The Wave Lounge, the senior nail technician Aubrey is known for everything from classic manicures to intricate nail art, with an eye for trends before they reach the mainstream.

Quality Products

Your nails and skin deserve better than whatever is cheapest. The Wave Lounge works with names such as Voesh and Margaret Dabbs, which are used across its manicure and pedicure ranges.

A Menu That Covers Your Needs

Maybe you want a clean classic manicure, or maybe you’re after extensions and detailed art. A salon with a wide menu means you won’t have to go elsewhere for the next occasion.

A Closer Look at the Nail Menu at The Wave Lounge

The Wave Lounge was awarded Best Salon in Abu Dhabi by Professional Beauty in 2025, and its nail menu is built around clear options.

Manicures and Pedicures

There are five ranges: Signature, French, Russian, Voesh Spa and Margaret Dabbs Supreme. The first four can be booked as a manicure, a pedicure or a combined mani-pedi, each with a basic, polish or gel finish. Margaret Dabbs Supreme is a 60-minute treatment for hands or feet, or 120 minutes as a combination.

If you’ve wondered about the difference between a Russian and a Signature manicure, here’s the short version. A Russian manicure uses a dry, precision technique around the cuticle, which gives a cleaner finish close to the skin and holds its shape longer before regrowth shows. The Signature manicure is a classic wet manicure.

For reference, a Signature manicure starts from AED 110 and a Signature pedicure from AED 120. All prices are subject to 5% VAT, and it’s worth checking the current menu when you book.

Nail Extensions

If you want length or a stronger base, full sets are available in Stick Ons, Soft Gel, Acrylic, PolyGel and Hard Gel. Acrylic, PolyGel and Hard Gel can also be booked as an overlay or a refill, and weekly checkups are available to keep a set looking fresh.

Nail Art

For the creative side, the menu covers ombre in polish, gel or acrylic, chrome, foil and glitter, cat eye, crystals, 3D art, stickers and coloured French designs. Nail art is priced either per nail or per full set, so you can keep it subtle with one accent nail or go all out.

Beyond the Basics: Treatments Worth Knowing About

A good salon visit isn’t only about colour. A few extras can make a real difference:

  • Paraffin treatments for hands and feet.
  • Callus treatments, including a Voesh option and a Footlogix option.
  • Nail repair, charged per nail, for the one that broke the day before an event.
  • A kids’ menu for children aged 10 and below, with a manicure, pedicure, polish change, cut and file, and simple nail art.

Make It a Full Pampering Visit

Gel and extension appointments take time to set, so many guests pair them with another treatment in the same visit. You might add a blow dry or a threading and brow appointment, with nails, hair, face and body all offered at both branches. Mention it when booking so the timings can be sequenced properly.

Choosing Your Setting

The full nail menu is available at both branches. Al Bateen is a villa-style setting in central Abu Dhabi, and Hidd Al Saadiyat sits on the waterfront close to Saadiyat Island. If you’d rather stay home, selected nail services can also be booked through The Wave Lounge Home Service across Abu Dhabi.

Ready for Nails You’ll Love Looking At?

Back to that night before the event. The better plan is a booked appointment a few days ahead, with a technician who knows what suits your hands and your occasion. Whether you want a clean classic, a Russian manicure or a full set with nail art, the right nail salon in Abu Dhabi should leave you with nails you enjoy every time you look down.

Explore the full menu at the team’s nail salon in Abu Dhabi page, choose your treatment and book your appointment. You can book online, through The Wave Lounge app, or by call or WhatsApp to your preferred branch.
